Although I taught from 2000 I didn’t get my first equipment until 2010. Takes time saving money, pilates equipment is expensive. I even had to sell my horse back then to help afford things. Plus it helps to have a supportive mum that helps you build your brand. Small businesses really do have to make personal sacrifices to survive or thrive. Today I have full range of authentic equipment in the studio. I’m just missing a Guilotine which is on my list and I’m saving up for one. 🤩

Crazy how I had two reformers back in 2010 and I had to almost force people to try them. Now I have messages everyday asking about reformer classes!

I personally believe clients new to pilates should only have privates or duos on the reformer as they require hands on assistance and a careful eye from the instructor. I only have one pair of hands.

Three would be my maximum on equipment where springs are involved, unless you are a teacher or advanced client it can be very dangerous with no assistance. So big classes on TikTok might look fun but when you are new to spring resistance privates are safer and more effective. 😁

Everyone has to start somewhere so never be afraid of trying something new. It’s ok not to be good your first try 🤓
