In July 2026, 34 moves will be hosting a 30 min Pilates class attempting to break the World Record for the biggest Pilates class at Knockaloe – the place where Joseph Pilates was interned on the Isle of Man in World War One.
Joseph Pilates spent about three and a half years interned at the Knockaloe camp. Whilst detained, Joseph Pilates refined the system of physical exercises he created under the term Contrology.
The name 34 moves comes from the 34 classical Pilates mat exercises published in Joseph Pilates’s book: Return to Life Through Contrology – original copy published here: https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=mdp.39015038069475&seq=13
