Arm and Leg springs are a great addition to mat work, regular Pilates studio session or just a quick arm or leg workout.

I have the facility to support groups of 4 using leg springs, arm springs and roll back bar or groups of 3 using full Tower apparatus.

I have many clients who love even just the leg springs as it has such an instant positive impact on the body.

Swimmers feel taller and more lengthened with the feeling of extra length in their regular swim stroke. Much more length from the top of the hips many feel instantly.

Gym users feel extra stretch in their lower backs and freer hips and greater Glute activation.

Horse riders feel length through their waist and legs and more even weight distribution through their stirrups and seatbones. Even level stirrups! We all know of the times going down the Center line in dressage and one leg looks two holes longer than the other! This is often corrected fairly quickly.

Golfers say their rotation and swing improves after only a few sessions and their backs are not sore anymore and freer.

Parish walkers and runners feel their feet, hips and knees are much freer and more aligned. Plus adding the 2×4 and foot corrector work in really helps the ankles and feet further. Longer freer stride helps with making the time points and uses less energy.

The list goes on for everything they help and not just sports but it’s great knowing all these people are helped with the authentic Joseph pilates work of contrology. Not all Pilates will necessarily help you in the same way as the authentic method.

Lots of pilates offered these days is just random exercises which may or may not help you but there is major differences so research what will work for your body and individual needs.

Something can be fun but is it working your muscles efficiently and effectively and balanced. Are you in the correct position when doing your movements. To makes changes in your body takes accuracy, consistency and knowledgeable supervision. Even in a larger class situation you should not be cheating or rushing you should be instructed to feel what you are doing and in the right places.

I teach the whole comprehensive method invented by Joseph Pilates . To have all that knowledge requires being certified on all studio apparatus and mat as a whole system you can’t just choose bits of it as a teacher, you need all of it to fully understand it. Everyone has a choice and you can like true original Pilates as a method of exercise as Joseph Pilates invented or you might prefer pilates hybrid type pilates exercises or even made up exercises some people call Pilates these days.

You can like what you like best but they do not all have the same results.

Education helps us make our own decisions on what class or private session we are going to. Lots of movement which is not Pilates can be lovely for the body and there are many things I give to clients they need as movement in addition to Pilates but if it’s not a Pilates move I tell my clients that it’s not Pilates and it’s a stretch or whatever it might be. It’s always nice to know what you are doing or we never really know what is working for our needs at the time.
